Confirmation Session 2 Follow Up

Hi friends,

I really enjoyed spending time with the Confirmation group this past Sunday.  Our time together focused on the nature of God.  We focused specifically on the Trinity (God as 3-in-1).  How the Father (Creator), Son (Redeemer), and Spirit (Sustainer) are distinct and different and each part of the oneness of God.

We started the session by wandering the church grounds with a camera and a question.  "What do I see that reminds me of God?  Where do I see the divine?"  Here are the pictures you all took.

The Trinity is one way (a pretty important way in Christianity) to think and talk about God.   The idea of the Trinity (the 3-in-1) is a mystery that demonstrates relationship as core to the very being of God (at the center, God is in relationship with God's self in the three persons of Father, Son, and Spirit).  This means that all of creation has the ability to reveal God to us AND, how we relate to creation has the ability to reveal God to us.  Theologian Richard Rohr speaks of this beautifully in the video below.

Again, I really enjoyed getting to know you all better.  Aloha!

Upcoming Events! Jan - Mar 2016

Hi Everyone
Check out the events parents and youth can participate together.  We encourage you to work side-by-side with your child to show them volunteering is important.  Also, they work because they want to go on a Mission Trip later.

Please add these events to your calendar at home and online as February and March are full of events and we will need your help.

I will write emails to make things clearer for you as the time gets closer.

Thank you
Carol

Middle School Outting

Our Middle School Outing is January 9.  We will meet here at church first and go in cars of Auntie Carol, Bridget and George.... and perhaps Aunty Cheryl.
We will see the movie first. We have a choice of Star Wars and Alvin and the Chipmunks.  Both are good.  There are others but I think although they are PG and I will leave it to your parents to take you.
Meet us here on January 9 at 10am in front of church.  For how long it will be?  We can count on at least 31/2 hours so about 2:30 will be pick up time.
We will also play some games to try and get to know you and for you to know others who are Middle School.

As always, check out the YOTM Blog for a copy of this email (for all updates on YOTM)

Please tell me yes or no.
Thanks you
